Death date not given. Born in Vermont Nov. 16, 1851.Married Miss Emma Hall of Barton, Vt., in 1877 and they came to California 20 years ago, living in Los Alamitos for 17 years. He worked for the Los Alamitos Sugar company, becoming sales manager and auditor. “Throughout the west his name is well known in the sugar world and various papers from Chicago to California printed articles on sugar questions from his pen. He was a firm believer and strong advocate for a protective tariff on sugar, believing that the future life of the sugar industry in the United States was hopelessly doomed under the operation of the Underwood tariff bill which places sugar on the free list…” Survived by his widow and daughters Mrs. George Green and Mrs. J.C. Bodger. Funeral in Los Angeles.
