LOS ALAMITOS, March 6 —The regular meeting of the Woman’s Club was held at the Church Wednesday, presided over by Mrs. P.R. Campbell, Vice-President.  An amendment to the Constitution, providing that there should be no meetings of the club during July and August was passed. The hosteses of the day were Mesdames Bloomquist and Condra, while Mrs. Pauline Young furnished a very interesting program.

 

CITY GARDEN ACRES, March 17 — Plans have been submitted for the building of a two-story brick building, financed by R.P. Green, sub-divider for City Garden Acres at Farquhar and Los Alamitos B0ulevard. The ground floor is to be used for stores, and the upper floor for a Community Hall.

The Rev. Katharine Berry of Long Beach visited her brother and family, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wachter, on Sunday.

Hugh Green and daughter Betty of South Lomita visited his parents on Sunday.

The Los Alamitos baseball team will play under the City Garden Acres colors on the new grandstand diamond at Farquhar and Los Alamitos Boulevard.

J. Conrad Confield of Long Beach will build a six-bedroom modern home and will also build a radio cabinet plant which will be started soon.  The property is located near Green and Maple Streets.

Mr. and Mrs. Ray Bangs are moving to Long Beach.

Sol Goodwin of Los Angeles visited on the tract Saturday.

Mrs. Ida Wertz, of Los Angeles, spent Monday and Tuesday visiting her niece, Mrs. I.W. Green.

Mr. and Mrs. C.A. Blinn are moving to Blythe where Mr. Blinn is employed by a dredging company.

 

 

LOS ALAMITOS, March 18—Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Root and children of Huntington Park, were guests of Mrs. Root’s sister, Mrs. G.N. Watts, on Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. C.F. Pate of La Canada, ere weekend guests at the George Martin home and accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Martin and daughter to San Diego Sunday.

Miss Marian Watts is enjoying a two-week vacation from her work as a stenographer at the First National Bank, Artesia.

Mesdames F.L. Norton and Mrs. G.N. Watts attended an all-day meeting of the Ladies Aid Society of the Cngregational Church at the homemof Mrs. Decker in Santa Ana Wednesday of last week.

Mr. and Mrs. James Watts recently entertained Mrs. Mary Watts  and Mrs. Pearl Gill of Artesia and Mr. and Mrs. Saxton of Cherryvale, Kan.

 

LOS ALAMITOS, March 20 —A pleasant dancing party was held Tuesday evening under the auspice of the Women’s Club.

Rulan McOmia (should be McOmie) is home from Stanford University for the Easter vacation.

Ralph Norcross was in Long Beach yesterday.

An interesting meeting of the Ladies Aid Society of the Community Church was held Tuesday afternoon. A bazaar is being planned, to be held in May.

The series of Wednesday evening meetings held at the Community Church, led by the pastor, the Rev. F.P. Rosselot, with the assistance of the various members, is being most helpful.  These meetings are in preparation of the Easter services.
