Obit: Perry Green (1895-1952), Los Alamitos realtor in 1920s, father of Lura Labourdette

This obituary is from the Long Beach Independent, May 15, 1952.  Perry Green came to Los Alamitos in the mid 1920s and became a local real estate agent.  Some Los Al histories list his name as “Rush” Green, but this obituary says Perry Green.  According to his daughter, Lura, one of the areas he promoted was City Garden Tract, which is now the Apartment Row  section of Los Alamitos, south of Katella and north of Farquhar, between Los Alamitos Blvd and Lexington.

Services for Perry Green, 57, of Yucca Valley, who died Tuesday at a Twenty Nine Palms hospital, will be conducted at 10am Friday in the chapel of B.W. Coon Funeral Home.  Rev. Eddie Garner will officiate. Interment will be at Westminster Memorial Park.

Mr. Green was born in Burlington Junction, Mo, and came to Long Beach 25 years ago from St. Joseph, Mo.  He had resided the past three months in Yucca Valley.  He was a member of the Methodist Churtch and the Lions Club.  He was a real estate broker.

Mr. Green is survived by his wife Belva C., three daughters: Lura Labourdette of Los Alamitos, Mrs. Gail Cecechini of Sepulveda, and Miss Donna Green of Yucca Valley; two brothers, Hugh of Huntington Park and Lee of Peninsula, O. , and four grandchildren.
