Biography- George Pillsbury

GEORGE E. PILLSBURY. Los Angeles

Born Tewksbury. Mass.. 1857. Educated public schools and Lawrence Academy. Began civil engineering in Lowell, Mass., and until 1880 was in the employ of various railroads; then removed to Mexico where, for about three years, he was a division engineer during the building of the Mexican Central Railway. In 1884 came to the Coast and since 1885 has been a resident of Los Angeles. From 1885 until 1895, engaged in railway and other engineering; since 1895. in engineering with Los Angeles Electric Railways, and has been Chief Engineer of the Pacific Electric Railway since its inception. Mem, Engineers and Architects Association, and Jonathan and San Gabriel Country Clubs.

He was also one of the original directors of the Bayside Land Company when it was organized in 1903.
