1955: Los Alamitos Park — New Residential Community Said more than 35% Sold (now part of Carrier Row)

Carrier Row was the second real estate development south of Katella Avenue. But it was originally called Los Alamitos Park and developed in three different phases after World War II. And it apparently was similar to a development called Puente Vista in the West Covina area.  This article comes from then May 8, 1955 Los Angeles Times.
(Carrier Row is sometimes incorrectly called Battleship Row, but all the streets are named after aircraft carriers — in fact three of the first four streets — Lexington, Essex and Langley, were carriers in the task force in which VF-16, the first full air unit trained at NAS, was assigned. VF-16 was stationed on the Lexington.)

New Residential Community Said More Than 35% Sold

Los Alamitos Park, a new residential community between Long Beach and Garden Grove, is now over 35% sold out, it was stated by Gilbert J. Hayes, sales agent.

The new community features well designed homes for the low income buyer, the report said, and offers three bedroom and two bedrooms and den homes, conventional design and construction with heavy foundations, oak floors, plastered walls and ceilings, two-car garage, garbage disposals, tile kitchen and other features, Hayes said.

The full price of the dwelling is $10,000 and veterans may purchase with no down payment and monthly payments of $52.61.
